I. Time schedule and venue

The daily programme was take place in Het hov wageningen and University of Wageningen ‘Forum Building’:

–        morning:  from 08:30 to 12:30 hrs with one coffee/ tea break

–        afternoon: from 13:30 to 17:30 hrs with one coffee/ tea break

II Background information for the course Integrated Pest management and food safety

GENERAL FOCUS OF THE TRAINING PROGRAMME

Globally crops suffer losses caused by various pests having a negative impact on food security of farmers, communities and particularly fast expanding urban areas. In addition to food security there is an increased demand for food safety and food of better quality by the growing populations and international trade. The widespread dependence on chemical pesticides results in high economic and environmental costs. Increased environmental and public health awareness and the need to implement sustainable agricultural production systems tend to discourage the injudicious use of pesticides. IPM aims to minimise the use of chemical pesticides and to ensure an integration of various control measures in an informed manner without harmful effects on the environment and occupational and public health.

Researchers working with a wide range of crops around the world have proved the technical feasibility of IPM and significant successes have been achieved with specific pest problems. Generally IPM programmes combine several tactics into a multiple pest management strategy. Because of its complexity, however, IPM proved to be more difficult to apply on farms than simple chemical control techniques. IPM demands an understanding not only of the technical aspects of pest management, but also of all the possible effects of the various control measures on the farmer, the family’s household and livelihood. Participatory approaches to research, extension and development of IPM have proven to contribute to the success of IPM implementation at farmers’ level. A level playing field to support IPM is required through a conducive policy and institutional environment.

METHODOLOGY OF TRAINING PROGRAMME

The training is job-oriented and experience-based, therefore it is highly interactive: it provides participants with the opportunity to learn from a wealth of international experience available among themselves and the course facilitators. The topics will be addressed through lectures, exercises, field visits, case studies and personal and/or group assignments.

Excursions and field work enable comparison of own experiences with practices in the Netherlands, whereas group assignments facilitate exchange of knowledge and experiences between participants. The training programme Integrated Pest Management and food safety is composed of two components, being (i) Pesticides and food safety in IPM, and (ii) IPM policy and institutional innovations.

Pesticides and food safety in IPM

FOCUS OF THE COURSE PROGRAMME

Over the last decades, consumers have shown a growing concern about the safety and quality of their food, particularly those living in the North, where the main share of the consumption takes place. The public and private sectors in the North have quickly responded to this concern. Both government regulators (national and international) and private food retailing companies developed grades and standards for the production of food in order to meet requirements for food safety and quality. All horticultural producers must meet these criteria of safety and quality, if they want to sell their products in the international (northern) markets. These grades and standards lean heavily on IPM and Integrated Crop Management (ICM) and thus support in a way the development and implementation of sustainable agriculture practices. These grades and standards seem to create two interrelated problems. The quick response of various public and private sectors has led to a wide range of different standards, grades and certification schemes that hardly anyone can oversee. Finding the way in this standard jungle is both time consuming and cost increasing for all producers. However, this effect burdens most heavily on producers from developing countries, especially the small-scale producers. It becomes more and more difficult for them to gain or maintain international market access, as they need to meet the various food safety requirements at considerable costs and effort. In many countries in the South export horticulture is growing rapidly, but these grades and standards increasingly present a threat to export and thus to (small-scale) producers.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

Long term:

  • To contribute to rural development in the South through the improved capacity of organizations and institutions to apply IPM and integrate food safety and quality grades and standards into sustainable agricultural / horticultural systems; and
  • To support market access to (international) markets of small-scale producers, particularly of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Specific objectives:

Participants of this course update and strengthen their knowledge, insight and skills on:

  • Food chains and the role of primary production in achieving food safety;
  • Public and private food safety and quality grades and standards in the food chain and the roles of the different stakeholders; and
  • Implications for implementation of IPM, Integrated Crop Management / Good Agricultural Practices for small-scale producers.

IPM policy and institutional innovations

FOCUS OF THE COURSE PROGRAMME

Appropriate implementation of Good Agricultural Practices and IPM for food safety and international market access requires a conducive environment of supportive and enabling policies and institutions. This can be achieved through multi-stakeholder processes (MSP) with the aim to enable IPM and/or pesticide-related policies and supportive institutional innovations.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

Long term:

  • To contribute to rural development in the South through the improved capacity of organizations and institutions to apply IPM and integrate food safety and quality grades and standards into sustainable agricultural / horticultural syste
  • To support development of IPM policies and institutional innovation

Specific objectives:

Participants of this course will update and strengthen their knowledge, insight and skills on:

  • The roles of stakeholders in IPM policy development and institutional innovations through the use of multi-stakeholder processes (MSP):
  • The roles of stakeholders in supporting the implementation of IPM and sustainable agriculture through the use of MSP;
  • Levels of participation relevant for IPM policies and institutional innovations;
  • Options for supportive IPM policies and institutional requirements; and the formulation of recommendations for improving the effectiveness and impact of IPM policies, instruments, institutions and implementation practices in the respective countries and in the own working situation

Lutfi Afifah

Ede Wageningen Netherland, June 2016

Hai I’m Lutfi Afifah, I am alumni of Bogor Agricultural University majoring in Entomology Department. Departure to the Netherland Europe it’s a miracle for me. I never imagine it become true. 😀 I got the Netherland Fellowship Program “NFP” on behalf Nuffic Neso during my transition time (gap time before getting work). I applied this fellowship on October 2015 when I was working in laboratory helping my best supervisor of life “Dr. Purnama Hidayat M.Sc” and last January 7th 2016 was the time announcement of this fellowship. I got this fellowship from the recommendation of my former supervisor Dr. Purnama Hidayat M.Sc. Now I am having travel from Soetta (Jakarta) to Istanbul (Turkey) and Istanbul (Turkey) to Schipol (Amsterdam).

Fortunately the Dean of Agriculture Faculty in Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang Unsika”, Dr. Sulistyo Sidik Purnomo, M.Si, head Department of Agrotechnology gave me permission to take this opportunity.  Also I got the Exit Permit dari Rector of Unsika. Recently Unsika have been changed from Private University into Public University. Unsika have being a Private University about 33 years and then being a Public University recently (about 2 years). Leaving my students for a temporary time. I am glad that in this time, in Unsika already finished the semester and I just finished my duty for lecturing.

Have a great time here since my family allow me to travel to Europe. They fully support me in whatever I do! As long as it good, they will support and they pray for me and for my lil for the future life.  Miles away from home, parents, little sissy Zulfa, and all of my working partner it gonna be so challenging!

“Sebenarnya tulisan ini hanya melengkapi informasi-informasi yang officially bisa kita dapatkan dari situs www.nuffic.nl dan www.nesoindonesia.or.id. Harapan saya tulisan ini bisa menjadi booster bagi teman-teman yang ingin merasakan sensasi study adventurer khusunya di Belanda”

One fine day in the beginning of October 2015, my classmates Mahardika Puspitasari sent me a private message “Pi pi… Ga mau ikutan course ke Belanda?” and of course “Mau mbak” I was replied. Then she gave me the information about the fellowship NFP. The fellowship deadline is a different in each course. So please be aware! Read the Course Calendar carefully! In this course the deadline is 20 October 2015 and the Fellowship announcement is about 22 December 2015. But the announcement was coming a bit late, it coming up on January 2016.

The NFP fellowship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the budget for development cooperation. The fellowship is meant as a compensation of the costs involved in participating in a short course organised by the Centre for Development Innovation (CDI), Wageningen UR. Workmate

Hello February, it been a new year! New hope, new spirit. How are you guys? Hope everyting will be okay.

Talking about 2016, it really the greatest year ever. I’ve been accepted in Public University in Karawang namely “Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang”. Sometime called “Unsika”. This university actually was build in 1982 and being a Private University along 33 years. Now Unsika have been changed from Private university into Public University in 2014. Do not compare this university with other upstanding university like IPB and UGM. Now Unsika have been search for “its own identity”. Nowadays Unsika has the new procedure to enter the University, that is through SNMPTN. It’s quite hard since they should fight with the test to pass the exam. Since only  approx. 120 students could enter the Department of Agrotechnology. It will be so challenging for us to handle them.

I’m entered Unsika about 4.5 months ago, since October 2015. Together with new comers: 2 people titled M.Sc, 3 people titled M.Si, and 1 person titled M.P. The 6 newcomers isn’t merried yet, but 2 peoples getting married soon (on April). Here I felt so happy, everything was new. Everything so challenging.

This semester I taught 3 subjects:

  1. Dasar Penyuluhan dan Komunikasi [MBB 2303]
  2. Dasar Teknologi Budidaya Tanaman Pangan [MKB 4301]
  3. Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman (Penyakit) [MKB 4310]

The first one is my subject dream. Although it little bit hard for me to study “Ilmu Penyuluhan”. I never been taking those subject while the bachelor. I only took Communication. But nothing impossible. I’ll study more about that subject.

Then the upcoming semester (Odd Semester) I will teach in the following subjects:

  1. Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman (Hama) [MKB 3309]
  2. Pengelolaan Hama Terpadu [MPB 7301]
  3. Pengantar Ilmu Pertanian [MKK 1209]

Recently Faculty of Agriculture Unsika have been signed MOU with the KABUSHIKI KAISHA SHIMOTA NOUGEI Co., Ltd in Ibaraki Japan. This MOU contain the cooperation for exchange the students. Hope so do with the staff mobility. So I can go to Japan again. Amin.

MOU Signing betwen Faperta Unsika and Kabushiki Kaisha Shimota Nougei Co.,Ltd, Ibaraki, JAPAN

The second one in January. I was being an awardee for the fellowship/scholarship in Wageningen University, Netherland, Europe. I got the fellowship from NFP, financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It was unbelievable!. Insyaallah I will come to Europe next spring May 2016. Hope everything will be alright. Now I’m preparing the “Schengen Visa ”. It’s a Visa to enter Europe. Wish me luck. Hope I will get the permission letter from Agrotechnology Department and also from Rector of Unsika.

See you in Netherland!

Email dari Wageningen, Belanda

Email dari Wageningen, Belanda

Karawang, 29 January 2016

Well it’s not that hard!

Baca postingan para awardee kadang bikin ketawa sendiri.

Tepatnya sekitar pukul 20.00 an malam, disaat saya sedang mengajar les anak-anak di Teluk Jambe Karawang. Email saya baca sekilas dan saya melanjutkan mengajar Bahasa Inggris. Seusai les berakhir saya baca benar-benar email tersebut. Dan surprisingly saya mengenal salah satu participant yang lolos fellowship namanya Vani Nur Octaviany. Yes, she is my senior in Entomology and we have the same supervisor. That is Dr. Purnama Hidayat M.Sc.

Wow amazing, the world is small. We accidently meet in this course without anything known before. Having many children there and live temporary in Europe (who knows yaa).

Sampai jumpa lagi ya, the story will be continue as soon as possible.

See you in Netherland (#eaaaaaaaa….)

Kind regards,

Afifah Lutfi

Calm Ramadhan (1432 – 1436 H)

Hello Ramadhan!

Break Fasting Ramadhan Kareem 1436 H

Break Fasting Ramadhan Kareem 1436 H

On a fine day, it was Ramadan month. A month that moslem have to do fasting for a month. Ramadhan 2011 I spent my whole month in Bogor because of the undergraduate research. It was about the enthomopathogenic fungi Lecanicillium lecanii. I went home about a week before Eid Mubarak and sadly I have to back to Bogor in the 3 rd day of Eid Mubarak. My fungi in lab need to be treated in the beginning of Eid Mubarak. Hiks…

I still remember in Ramadhan 2012 when I was in Jakarta. In a full Ramadhan I spent my time in Jakarta because at that time I still work. Then in Eid Mubarak 2012, it was the hardest time since I can’t go home. I didn’t get permit to take furlough. Then I spent my Eid Mubarak Idul Fitri alone in Bogor, in a fine house located in Babakan Tengah, Dramaga.

Different year different stories. Ramadhan 2013, I spent the whole time in Ngale, Ngawi, East Java. Eventhough my home quiet near from Ngawi but I can’t go home. It was because of the field observation. Enduring the hard time and the bored time there. Three month apart in small village with limited acseess. But all of that have been passed. Im blessed.

Ramadhan 2014, I still remember how’s the feel. Flustered! Really remember but its okay. In that month Im busy with the data of thesis research. I still study how to use the program. But the point isn’t the data but the feels. Flustered! Only if the small mosque in front of my kost can speak so they can talk clearly what happened in that month. Don’t worry it just flustered feel and just positive thinking all gonna be alright. As long as we do good and pray. No need to worry.

Time flies really fast, now Im in Ramadhan 2015. In this Ramadhan im not student anymore and just being alumni. I passed all of the master degree requirement. I had a temporary job helping my supervisor doing so many things that he can’t handle. I had my own income because of that. I felt save. Actually I already submit on many universities in East Java and Central Java, but don’t know yet the final result. Actually some of the universities call on me for the interview test but I don’t think its for my chances. The administrativ make that hard. Now there is on going process in one of the public university in West Java. Don’t know yet, its my chance or not. But at least I already tried. The work world isn’t comfort enough. I ever feel the same feeling when I look for a job after completing my bachelor. New place, new people, new job wont ever comfort enough to stay. But there is a New Hope.

This Ramadhan also feels so colorful since I felt that in Ramadhan all of the activity (teratur). From getting up, eat sahur, break fasting, tarawih, and so on. Everything goes in the right time. In this month I also got so many break fasting invitation. I am happy to see all of them. Seeing each other it mean togetherness. I am happy be apart of them.

Hospitalize

Hospitalize

QUOTE.TakeCareOfYourBodyOnlyPlaceToLive-850x850

Have you ever went to the hospital to see your relatives that hospitalize? How do you feel? Thousand of feeling. I still remember a day in 2012 when I was in Daan Mogot, Jakarta. I have a senior that her father hospitalize in a Cancer Hospital in West Jakarta near Taman Anggrek Mall. In the evening around 3 pm I went to the hospital. I was alone from my kos-kosan in Daan Mogot. Thousand of feeling at that time. I felt so deep sad with her story about her father. At that time she was single (not marriage yet) and her father told to her that he want to see her beloved daughter for getting marriage. At that time she still finish her master thesis and unfinished yet. She told me that her mother working so hard for her. In fact she has two brother and sister. For several years her mother caring them so good.

Back to the story, I was riding the Trans Jakarta bus and stop right in front of the hospital. I still remember how is the condition in that hospital. I passed the room for the children who get a cancer. I felt so sad. Then I enter one of the room to meet her family. One thing that I could see there, her father. Her father laying on a bed. There are so many modern tools that installeId on his body. He cant speak anymore. I was dropping some of the tears. I just imagine if that is my father. Father that in his life just caring about his family and his society. I felt so bad. And then I see her mother, who caring so patiently. I felt her mother so tough with her life. She should work hard for their life also for health expanses.

A women that have the strengness for her family. A wife that very love with her husband till the end of his life. Today 22 june, there is our lab member that hospitalize and I was there for her. She was sick and her husband and her daughter was around her to give support. I hope she will get well soon.

So many lesson I got from seeing them. Being women have to be independent. For example if we are getting marriage and then we have husband and children, then someday we don’t know what is going on in the future. May be our beloved husband is getting sick and need to be hospitalize. In fact when he is sick he couldn’t work and ……. (you can imagine what I think). I hope it never happen to me in the future. Just being positive that He is creating good future for us. So from now let be friendly in our healthiness. Just care with your own body. Care what you eat. Care with your self, your family, your wife to be or husband to be, or others. Please eat well, please live well. 🙂

Oh yaa,.. Selamat menunaikan Ibadah Puasa 1436 H 🙂

Puasa, tarawih, ngaji, dan ibadah lainnya semoga full yaa.. 😉

Cheers,

Upi

Impian

Impian

No Worry, Be positive and happy! J .

Jadi sudahkah kalian tau impian kalian? Mari kita memulainya dari sekarang, mari membuat jejak!. Good luck!!

In this week I saw Korean drama while doing some activities. It was interesting drama.. hehe. There is a life lesson there. Here is the resume.. hehe 😀

“ Someday there is a girl meet a man in the small restaurant. That girl was so interesting person due to her attitude and attractive that make other people happy to see her. She is pretty and she work in her family restaurant. Than a man was so kind and also smart, but yet couldn’t find a good job for him. Then after several time they meet each other, they decided to get marry. In their marriage life the girl was so loved to her husband. They love each other. Because of the economically problems due to the husband exit for the job and start a job to be a businessman, the wife got so much difficulties to manage the monthly expenses. Eventhough for buying the gas for kitchen. So that the wife should be work out over her husband. She work so hard for securing the baby of them and also for paying the debts caused by the husband ruined his business. Then sadly, the baby was gone and they divorced! After 3 years apart, they meet again. The ex-wife just work in ordinary shop but the ex-husband work out as CEO of the big mobile company. Now, he became so rich and also more handsome than before. During 3 years apart, they didn’t meet anyone in their life. They just being single. Eventhough they met so many people in their life but yet none of them ‘klik’. Then the ex-wife work in his company and they falling love again. Not because of the money but the universe let them to met and marry again “.

I think this is the good story. Not because of the divorce in the marriage but the life lesson that The world will not go that easily! “. Do not ask for easy life but ask for the strengthness to endure it. Pelajaran buat diri sendiri sih..  No worry, kamu bisa kok! Ayo semangattt!! (pake toa) ;p  Good luck for preparing your good future! God is always beside us! Mari bekerja keras, bekerja cerdas, bekerja sabar 😉

Review from The Past: Where your foot going to?

Review from The Past: Where your foot going to?

February 19, 2015

DSC_0275Hello, it been a year since my last posting about in the past six month posting. How are you guys? Hope you fine and happy. So do I felt the same things. So many things happen, wheather sad and happy. All the things that already happen is a present from God. Present to keep learnt from anythings we got. I passed all the hard time since I study till now. I think it’s a common matter being master students faced so many problems come. Congratulation, You passed! It mean God will not give you the hard matter if you can’t solve that matters. Congratulation from all of your courageous, right decision, and spirit. All of you that already passed all the matters is a WINNER and not a LOSER.

Since I had a good memory (in detail) to memorize all the things that already happen, now I will take a bit flash back from in the past a year. This is like a short review from the past.

On January 2014, that was the end of the third semester. I was so busy with the final exam (UAS) so do all of my friends. They busy to finished their final presentation, exam, and also papers. In that months also I finished all the things belong to insects sorting. Glad to had the best juniors from PTN 47’ that helped out the sortation.

On February 2014, I went home. Going home to see my family. In that month my lovely grandmother (mother of my father) was passed away. My father asked me to go home before it. It was so sad, but live must go on. I also got sick in this month. In that month also the Gunung Kelud was exploded. Eruption! All of the town also in my town covered with ash.

On March 2014, In the beginning of the month, I get ready completing all the database. Actually I was so confuse, really confuse with the data. I don’t know how to make it simple. Easy to read, easy to understand. The ecology data could be read from many point of view. Grateful that some of friends and juniors help out the database. Some senior from Lab PH helped out to understand the data. Trial and error.

On April 2014, This month quite hard since I have to understand some matters and also completing the R statistic. On April 9 th, I helped out Ida in the green house planting the paddy plant and also after that I went to somewhere (I don’t remember the name of the place) to follow the Election of West Java Governmental. I was so happy can participate eventhough not really know them. In that day, I also attacked by yellow caterpillar (ulat bulu). Yaks… The caterpillar walk fast, not like other caterpillar.

On May 2014, That month I busy with studying R Statistic package vegan. Lucky me, I have many senior that so patience to helped me. In this month I just realize that my Laboratory is my home. I started spent my whole time just in Laboratory. Eventhought it weeked, I don’t care (hehe). Till I realize that I lost some weight because of it (haha)

On June 2014, That month I busy with studying R Statistic package bipartite. Now I can make the trithropic interaction (interaction between level thropic) from the database. I felt so improve! In this months I can exploring the data. The lecturers from Lab PH Dr. Akhmad Rizali thought me how to make it. He also thought me how to make the dissimilarities based on UPGMA, I made the dendogram. Happy!

On July 2014, I just writing out the thesis. Yap almost finished. It was the blessing months. Ramadhan. I went home about 4 days before Idul Fitri. I went to Jogjakarta before going home. Happy Idul fitri.

On August 2014, In that months I offered by universities in the East Java. In the middle of months, I went back to Bogor and preparing the Sidkom 2.

On September 2014, Sidkom 2 actually was held in 16 September 2014, but unfortunately my supervisor Prof Dami totally forgot about the meeting. Oh my God. Its reschedule to 17 September. Ok doesn’t matter. The matter is, I have to rearrange the thesis into a simple way. My first thesis is about 98 page with most of that is statistic (planet language). It was hard to understand the thesis. So, I made the new one. New thesis. Start from the beginning. In that months also I was so happy that I can join Summer Course IPB-Ibaraki. New friends, new chances, new experiences. I was so happy. Since the lucky one get a chances to go to Japan.

On October 2014, In this month I busy to make the summer course reports. Since from the evaluation of oral presentation, poster, teamwork, and also reports some of the students get a chances to go to Japan (Ibaraki and Okinawa). From the beginning, Mr Faiz said that may be only two person can go to Okinawa and everyday I ask to God, whether its my destiny or not. At least I did my best. On 22 October about 5.14 pm, all of the summer course participant went to the Rectorat. Mr Faiz and committee already had a decision who will granted the chances to go to Japan. It based on rank. Oh my God, my heart was going to explode (deg-degan). He said “Oke ranking 1 laporannya bagus, tim juga bagus,. Siapa? Belladini.. Selamat.., ranking 2 dari PTN siapa? Putze.. , ranking….. berikutya.. ranking demi ranking terlewati tanpa ada nama saya) last but no least , ranking selanjutnya dari PTN (huaaa pilihannya cuma hanya ada 1 dari PTN yang belum dipanggil) huaaa so happy… Lutfii” Alhamdulillah, I granted to get the funding from the Ryukyus University, Okinawa, Japan. The meeting finished around 19.00 pm and then I went to Kosan around 19.30 pm with my friend. Finally, Dream in 2012 got reached. It’s the miracle of dream, efforts, hope, and pray.

The Winter Course Funding Awardee

The Winter Course Funding Awardee

On November 2014, I was so busy with the Pasambahan dancing. Since I never dancing for performance. I felt so bad on dancing. So that I practicing hard with my best team Tiara and Ami. Every evening we were practicing the dance in GWW. Among us, was so bad on dancing (hehe) but we can, we try. In that month we also busy to meeting with the Winter Course Committee and also busy applied visa. In this month also I miss all the things belong to Thesis. I forgot already (hehe). In this month also I look for the Yen, quite hard to find out. I found that in money changer Sari Valas, in Jakarta.

On December 2014, It’s the time We went to Okinawa, Japan to follow Winter Course Program. Learnt languanges, culture, new knowledge, also new friends. I prepared some Yen to buy some of the souvenirs for many friends around me. I was happy to give you a little present. Eventhough its not so expensive but I prepared all with my hearts hehe. Just keep that… This month also rushing preparing the Seminar.

On January 2015, It was my best moment. I confuse, study, feeling so hard, and confuse like there is a ghost that chase me. I ran. It was my deadline in this study. The deadline was 6th February 2015. If someone not going to take thesis defences so they have to pay the tuition fees for 6th semester. Ok, infact I don’t have the money anymore for tuition fees so only one choice. Run! Do! 15th January I take the Seminar and also Sidkom 3. In a day I passed two important steps. In this months also I got some of the attackfullness information from my friends. It was on Wednesday, 28th January. I felt so sad, but life must go on. 🙂

On February 2015, It was so busy with thesis defences preparation. Alhamdulillah. In 3th February that was my thesis defences day. I already study about all the matters related with the research. The result is going smooth. Thank you my supervisor Dr. Purnama Hidayat and Prof. Damayanti Buchori and also Dr. Hermanu Triwidodo and Dr. Pudjianto. That was my best moment in the beginning of 2015.

Afifah Best Moment

Afifah Best Moment

That was all of short resume, flash back. I didn’t make that in detail. Just the headline of the story that represent in the past 2014. The learning I could take was do not underestimate (someone or something), keep polite to everyone, keep doing your best, keep praying, keep hoping, and also do not overestimate (someone or something), if youre going to overestimate so you put hope in high. Its not good. Do not expect anything from someone or something yo do. Do with your heart, and don’t be lie wheather to your self or to other people.

Now its our time to make decision where we are going to? Ask to your self, what do you want, what your dream, what you are going to be, and what your parents hope. Keep on your right track, just believe in your self. Your future is on your own hand. Don’t give up! Good luck, See you in the future…

Cheers,

Dr. Faiz, Dr Monchai, and IPB students was amaze along the way to the Ryukyus University. That day quite sunny and the bright clouds so that scenery made Okinawa more beautiful. Kawamoto sensei gave opening speech of Winter Course

Kawamoto sensei gave opening speech of Winter Course

After the opening speech, we were going to campus tour in Fujukan Museum and also in Turmeric field. Before we going to campus tour we had some nice pictures with all of the sensei and dean. Both Personal life and Academic actually isn’t public consumption. It just for relatives consumption and some of my close friends consumption and may be some of my junior and senior in IPB. Wauu.. its called public consumption lutfi!! Hihi… How come, yesterday I got xx in one of my subject I took and you know what I told everybody I met. I felt so upset and unhappy about that but I still laugh and express my dissapointment with everybody. I dropped in lab of nematology and I talked a lot, and then I talked to my bachelor friends in lab. Taksonomy and it caused all of my bachelor friends who come to the small gathering last 23 January, 2013 already know about this. I talked a lot with rita ida, tatit and then I talked a lot with my friends in boarding house, and bla bla bla. In conclution, Lutfi talked a lot and It is public consumption already. Lol.

I fully realized that I talked a lot. Everyday I got something new or anythings happen in my life I shared with my friends that I belived to keep that. That’s why, some of my friends called me nene’. A bit fussy maybe.

As I remembered last November 2012, I got a chance being Seminar moderator NPV National Plant Protection event replacing Mba Herma (according to the committee). Im so happy. Hope I could be great as Mba Herma J and I could continue my PhD in somewhere outside this country with my future husband.

Talking about my personal life. Hmhmm.. I won’t shared here. My future husband is somewhere, somewhere that I didn’t know where is that. Let the the time find the answer. “Kata mba Nayu newly married, Harusnya jempolnya buat aku dapat suami paket komplit kaya xxx” heuu Envy lol

Talking about advisor. Yeah,. Confused enough! In the end of first semester I talked with my lectures in Biological control lab. (read: Lab. Pengendalian hayati) and cause of some consideration. I decided take a research in taksonomy and my second advisor is in Biological control lab.

I thought this story is enough it could represent what’s happening in my life on the past 6 months. Actually there was a bunch of unwritten story. Have a great life guys!

MASTER VERSUS WORK

MASTER VERSUS WORK

August 18, 2012

Moggy, Mascot of ETOS A place where I work

I moved to Jakarta since July 2012 because of work. I already accepted as an Advisor in Quality Assurance Division (QA) in one of outstanding Pest Management Company in Jakarta ETOS (Ethology System) . If I could describe this company, truly its very prospectable. This company also expanse their area into international coverage. Nowadays this company had many branches in some country like Shanghai, Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar, and Kuwait. In Indonesia, this company had many branches in several city like Jakarta, Banten, Bekasi, Bogor, Bandung, Lampung, and Surabaya. Actually, I am happy work here. My major task is give a client something like customer education about pest especially about urban pest like mouse, ant, termite, mosquito, bed bug, coarck, flies, and others. There are a thousand client in my company where I work. They are like The Park Lane Hotel Jakarta, Rich Carlton Hotel, Sarinah, Plaza Indonesia, Mayora Group, Bakmi GM, 21 Cinema in Jabodetabek, Indofood Group, etc.  Another task is to identification the pest, handle client compalaint, handle Technical Controller (TC), and monitoring all supervisors in Jakarta. I think its very interesting job since that’s related with my background as protectionist, although I didn’t protect plant anymore but I protect building and foods from pests. Recently QA division give training to The Park Lane Hotel Jakarta. The topic we already discussed is Bed Bug. Park lane hotel had assigned bed bug contract with our company.

The problems is I already accepted as an awardee of Beasiswa BU DIKTI 2012 (8 August 2012). Two days after my birthday (gak ada hubungan) hehe. You know what? Many things Ive to think:

  1. There is a duty  as a lecturer and might could be place in one of university in Indonesia?? Sabang to Merauke??? Yes! May be!
  2. Concerns about the future benefits. Cz this is unwritten in contract.
  3. Hard to leave current job cz its so challenging!
  4. Hard to leave QA and peoples at office. They are really nice peoples. I wont lost them just because Im resign *temporary may be.
  5. Already fallin love with Jakarta and bored with Bogor life

Basically, last decision is on my own hand. Already accepted all suggestion from family and friends. Look at time, keep moving, verification is on my eyes in fact I haven’t any permit to resign! I WONT resign without any legal permit. Temporary conclusion Iam happy with this job,. really happy!! 😀

Happy Eid Mubarak 1433 H ya.. Mohon maaf lahir batin. Selamat berkumpul bersama keluarga. Jangan seperti saya, kesepian lebaran sendiri, gak makan nastar, gak makan opor, dan ga bisa silaturahmi bareng keluarga. Itu rasanya subhanallah banget. Tapi Alhamdulillah,. Sudah biasa sendiri jadi ya ga kenapa-knapa. Saya sih masih punya keluarga di bogor itu tetangga waktu dulu ngontrak rumah pasca TPB. Hehe Bsk sih udah janji mau silaturahmi ke sana. Alhamdulillah, semoga bsk dikasih nastar. Amin..

Cheerssss!! 🙂

Afifah Day!!

 Happy birthday 23th Afifah!!

Most of the top management in my office “PT. ETOS INDONUSA stand for Ethology System” called my last name Afifah. Alhamdulillah, Thanks God You let me life in your world till now. I can breath easily, I’m health, I’m “rich”, I’m smart, and I’m so grateful having a nice family ever. You and them are the most lovable in my life. There isn’t anything else.  Last year I celebrated birthday party with friends. Now I’m celebrating bday with my friend Tuti in Plaza Semanggi, South Jakarta. Now I’m in Jakarta. I moved to Jakarta because God give me a chance to work after  graduation last February. I love this work. Although now I’m confused betwEen BU DIKTI Master Scholarship and my responsibility to the company where Im working now. I won’t make other disappointed because of me. I just want to give my best contribution to all of the people who I meet in this world. I wont be egoism women. In addition I just wanna make a good image as IPB Alumni. Thanks Allah SWT I know that your planning is better than humans plans.

Birthday. Actually almost 4 years in university I’m not usual with birthday cake. The meaning of birthday is increasing the old, more mature, more closed with the creator of life. That’s why it is not strange there isn’t bday cake in my 23th. The differencies is friends. In Jakarta I haven’t friends . There is my collagues in Tebet, South Jakarta. Her name is Tuti Purwaningsih, S. Stat. She was never change since as student. Now she working in outstanding company called “The Nielsen Company”.  If I get bored with my daily life in Daan Mogot, West Jakarta I went to her  kost-kostan in week end . Modest, Nice woman, and Never forgetting friends are Tuti’s behaviour. She is also got BU DIKTI Master Scholarship.  Its different with some of my close friends in collagues. Some of them already “forgot” me due to other new friends, new boy friends, or new girl friends. I try to stay closed with them. I invited them into meeting, invited dinner together, sent some text, and come to their kost-kostan. But there isn’t any progress. They come to me two step forwads then ten step backwards. I know they still love me as friends but may be at this time they have other bussines so they cant “close” with me as well as undergraduated student. I love them.

Anyway, happy birthday Afifah. Hope you will get your success in life and in the next life, “rich”, rich, great post graduate education, and easily found “the missing ribs”. Oh yaa, kindly accepted  bday gift. Now I need suggestion from all of the reader who read this posting. I’m already confused to choose my Master Scholarship or continuing work?? Kindly accept all of the suggestion.. please… Thanks

Jeng… jeng!! Pernah dapet penolakan? Apapun itu? Bagaimana rasanya? Begini isi penolakannya:

“Dear Lutfi,

Thank you again for your interest in our position.  We received dozens of applications from very worthy prospective students.  Unfortunately, Dr. Prischmann-Voldseth and I do not feel like you are a good fit for our position at this time.

Best of luck in the next phase of your career,
Dr. Jason Harmon ”

Her Hope! 😀

I have many hopes in my life. “Hope” that wouldn’t die till the end of my life #lebay!!. Nah, that was I felt. Hope that I could be a part of xxx company. Last year I worked together with that company. And I felt really enjoyed work with boot shoes, hat, backpack, field, soil, fruit, vegetables, farmers, pesticide, pesticide sprayer, fertilizer,  farmers meeting etc. I love worked with farmer. I thought if I work there I would find joy and finding my passion. But till now I haven’t called yet. I don’t know why. May be I am a person who not eligible to apply or I am a person who didn’t match with the qualification. Yeah, I know different company of course will have different steps or different standard to recruit a new people. They would be really careful to decide final choice. Actually I have applied to several companies, but the only company that wouldn’t disappear in my sight is xxx company. Truly, I didn’t lie. 😉

That was one of photo with my friends

Distribute “Tempat Pestisida”

Of course, you will directly know what company I really want to join after see that picture. Hehe… Today one of my friend attending further interview, hope there will a good result for her and hope miss. xxx will call me to get further interview.  Although it was a long time after first interview. But hope will never die!!

This year I also applied Post graduated scholarship from DIKTI called “Beasiswa Unggulan” . The aims of this scholarship is to organize a candidate to be prospective lecturer who will teach students in a specific University. I’ve a plan if I get a chance to work in xxx company I will postpone my chance to school again. Truly, I wanna work! 😀

Dear reader, Wish me luck yaa… ♥♥

Running Man Cartoon

Variety show korea ini menyita perhatian gw. DAEBAK bener deh. Running man member fixed totally 8 peoples, but nowadays onlt 7 left. Is it because Soong Joong Ki decided to leave RM. heu.. ga papa sih. Toh masih ada 7 member. Kalau boleh saya ceritakan their personality during the show:

1. Yu Jae-suk : Known as Yu-ruce Willis (유르스 윌리스). He is one of leader in RM. The main host of the show and known during the race missions for his escaping abilities. He is shown to have a closer relationship with a lot of the guests on the show, which he often boasts about to the other members. He is also often referenced to the color green throughout the show and is also known for his nickname “Grasshopper” from his first television appearance. Although initially a weak player during the race missions, he later becomes one of the more stronger players later in the series.

2. Gary : Known as Peaceful gary (평온개리). Introduced alongside Lee Kwang-su and Song Joong-ki as one of the “variety rookies” due to his lack of experience on variety shows prior to Running Man. He is shown as the most gullible and is easily fooled by the other members. Throughout the series, he has been involved in the primary loveline of the show alongside Song Ji-hyo. Although shown to be quite clueless at times, he is shown to be quite strong during the race missions even managing to win both special race missions in order to find the best Running Man and winning a trip to Europe.

3. Ha-ha: Known as Haroro (하로로). The primary joker of the cast and is usually picked on by other members because of his height and his similar appearance to Pororo the Little Penguin. He also has a tendency to feel as though he is the main lead into a movie created by his imagination. When things don’t go his way, he lashes out verbally, causing great laughter among the cast. He is also the playboy of the cast, as he always confesses his love to female guests. He was initially a weak player during the race missions, occasionally being picked on even while on the chasing team, however he slowly improves over the course of the show.

4. Ji Suk-jin : Known as Big Nose Older Brother (왕코형님). The oldest member of the show and one of Yu Jae-suk’s closest friends, knowing each other for more than 20 years. He is shown to be jealous of the good relationship between Yu Jae-suk and Kim Jong-kook. During the race missions, he is shown to be one of the weakest members and is the easiest and most frequently eliminated out of the cast.

5. Kim Jong-kook : Known as Sparta-kook (스파르타국스)/ Commander (능력자)/ Kookie~♥^^ (꾹이~♥^^). The strongest man on the show, Kim Jong-kook is known for his strength and skill during the race missions. During the missions, he is known for his sudden appearances that are often accompanied by the soundbite “Sparta!” taken from the movie, 300. His smart tactics are often successful to eliminate the other members and as a result, he is known for having both brains and brawn. He is also shown at times to act cute and show off his “aegyo”. His only apparent weakness is women and he is often teased for having a particular fondness towards Yoon Eun-hye.

6. Lee Kwang-su: Known as Kwang-vatar (광바타)/ Kwang-potter (광포터)/ Giraffe (기린). The youngest member of the cast and initially introduced alongside Gary and Song Joong-ki as one of the “variety rookies” due to his lack of experience on variety shows prior to Running Man. During the earlier episodes he was known for framing his fellow members with embarassing and often absurd rumours. He is often picked on by the rest of the cast, particularly Kim Jong-kook, due to his timid nature as well as similar appearance to the Na’vi species from Avatar. He is one of the weakest players during and is often one of the first to be eliminated during race missions. He is also known for his height, standing at 6 foot 4 tall.

7. Song Ji-hyo: Known as Mong Ji-hyo (멍지효)/ Ace (에이스). The only current female member of the show and initially only appeared as a guest but was added to the main cast in episode 6. During the earlier episodes, Song Ji-hyo was often known to swear during broacasts especially towards Ha-ha and Lee Kwang-su. She is also known to be often seen with confused or blank facial expressions a lot of the time. Throughout the series, she has been involved in the primary loveline of the show alongside Gary. She is one of the strongest players during race missions with similar running and catching capabilities as well as comparable intelligence to Kim Jong-kook.

8. Song Joong-ki: Known as Flower Joong-ki (꽃중기)/ Brain Joong-ki (브레인 중기)/ Active Young Man (적극청년). Introduced alongside Gary and Lee Kwang-su as one of the “variety rookies” due to his lack of experience on variety shows prior to Running Man. He is shown as being the smartest and also having the best looks out of the cast. He is known for being able to figure out puzzles and strategize during the race missions. He is also shown to be very optimistic and is often seen attempting new things but ultimately failing. As of episode 41, he has left the main cast to focus on his acting career. However, he reappeared in episode 66 as a guest which caught the other members by surprise and also in episode 71 in a short cameo as part of his promotion for the drama, Deep Rooted Tree.
